From Tee Shot to Test Drive: Creating Brand Experiences That Perform

Audi quattro Cup Crans-Montana

Just a few days after the Omega European Masters, we returned to the legendary Seve Ballesteros course in Crans-Montana, and the conditions were nothing short of spectacular. The fairways were immaculate, the course was in DP World Tour tournament shape, and the greens were seriously quick. Almost as quick as the Audi RS e-tron GT Performance, which goes from 0–100 km/h in just 2.5 seconds. Let’s just say some putts felt like they had launch control, too.

With the event sold out and close to 100 players on the starting list, the Audi quattro Cup brought together golfers, passion, performance and culinary delights. Among the guests were two Swiss sporting legends: Pirmin Zurbriggen, who returned to his “golden place” after winning both the Super-G and Giant Slalom at the 1987 World Championships here in Crans-Montana — alongside many other victories and four Olympic medals. The skiing legend was in the group with Didier Défago, Olympic downhill champion at Vancouver 2010 and also one of Switzerland’s most accomplished alpine skiers.

After 18 holes, guests moved seamlessly into the 19th hole: a final putt and a test drive with former racing driver and Audi instructor Oliver Rudolph in the latest Audi models. After driving fairways and pushing pedals, we switched to cruise mode with the prize giving and a great dinner experience at the charming Sporting Club.

Congratulations to all the winners, and especially:
  • Gross Winners: Maxim Weber & Anne Weber
  • Net Winners: Dominik Steiner & Patrick Schnell

Let’s talk about marketing

The goal of the Audi quattro Cup is to increase brand desirability, generate leads and ultimately sell cars. That’s why we developed the concept of the 19th hole — combining an Audi test drive with a final putt on an Audi-branded green. Depending on the location, the 19th hole served as either the pit stop or the final destination of the short drive. Every participant had the opportunity to experience their Audi dream model firsthand and take part in a lottery. The result? Players didn’t just see cars and branding around the course — they ultimately experienced the product themselves.

Leads generated. Target audience engaged. Mission completed.

Beyond the 19th hole concept, we partnered with Audi/AMAG’s performance marketing team on campaign and ad creation and managed the golf event for the sixth consecutive time. From the first tee to the final prize, we orchestrated the complete golf experience — covering everything from starting lists to on-course branding to player management, the 19th hole and the final prize-giving ceremony.

For us, the Audi quattro Cup is a perfect example of what we love to do: bringing together sport, brands, people and experiences — and making sure every detail works, from the first tee shot to the last drink.

Thank you

A big thank you to Audi Switzerland, especially Simon Kegler and Dieter Jermann, for trusting us once again to help deliver a fantastic golf event. Shout-out to the dream team: Patrick Kiener from GFC Sports Management AG, Nikita Bill, Oliver Rudolph, Adcom and Patrick Güller. Working with you is a pleasure. And, of course, a big thank you to Jonathan Ianchello, Directeur adjoint at Golf Club Crans-sur-Sierre, for the great support. You made our job easy.
